CASE 2 : H.H Holmes

H.H. Holmes, who is often considered the first serial killer in American history, was a Chicago man and serial killer who used the Chicago World Fair as a cover for his gruesome acts. He used an ordinary hotel for his killings, which then was often called the "murder castle," Holmes created a system of secret doorways, soundproof rooms, and traps throughout the hotel to lure his victims, which mostly consisted of young women. Advocates will be faced with the issues of examining the psychological and legal aspects of Holmes' case; all while exploring how the crimes he committed were able to be hidden from law enforcement and most importantly, the implications for modern crime prevention.
